Cabinet Finish Descriptions

Painted Cabinet Finishes

Cabinets can be painted with different colors, providing a versatile option for achieving various styles, from classic to modern. Painted finishes, also called opaque cabinet finishes offer a smooth, uniform appearance and can be easily customized to match the overall color scheme of a room.

Stained Cabinet Finishes

Staining involves applying a semi-transparent or transparent color to enhance the natural grain of the wood. Stains come in various shades, allowing for customization. This finish is popular for achieving a warm, traditional look.

Cabinet Finish Glazes

Glazes are meant to highlight the different edges on a piece of cabinetry. They can be applied to both stain and paint finishes. There are two types of glazes: flooded and penned. In the flooded glaze process, the glaze material is sprayed onto the entire cabinet door and is then wiped off everywhere except in the highlight areas. In a penned glaze process, the material is hand-applied to only to the highlighted areas.
